History
Historically two types of brokers have operated in the UK, Traditional and National. Whilst their paths would cross from time to time most people and businesses would remain with either one or the other. On one side you would have the Traditional brokers who would perhaps limit themselves to businesses with the same size turnover as themselves. These types of brokers would pride themselves on a personal service but they would be restricted to a limited amount of markets. A National Broker on the other hand would have many more insurers to choose from but would struggle to offer the personal touch which so many people still crave.
BK Insurance, who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), was established back in 1981 as a family run business with founding principles of integrity, professionalism, honesty and fair dealing. Over 25 years later the world is a very different place but these principles still remain our core focus.
Many of those traditional brokers have now gone or been taken over by large national firms but BK not only survives but flourishes in today's competitive marketplace. By 2012 we are on course to achieve a premium turnover of over £20m which will see us become one of the largest completely independent brokers in the UK.
This has only been possible for two reasons; customers and staff. Most brokers as they grow lose sight of what got them there in the first place, their customers. By putting our clients at the forefront of all the changes that we have made, we have been able to achieve an almost unparalleled level of client retention which has been the foundation for the growth of BK.
Our staff, whilst constantly pushed and challenged, have grown with us and that traditional brokerage that started all those years ago, now has trained and knowledgeable staff that have hundreds of years of combined experience and are equally comfortable with individual policies to global organisations.
Our history in many respects has just begun, but one thing is for certain, we are able to offer all clients no matter how large or small, the perfect solution to their insurance needs.
